guide after surviving Mercury Retrograde
congratulations, you made it.
after eclipse season and Mercury spinning backwards, you survived. you managed to push past the chaos, the anxiety, the miscommunication and now are finding yourself within the clearing.
but you’re not exactly out yet…
welcome to Mercury Retroshade
think of it as an astrological hangover; you’re feeling exhausted, probably wanting to forget all that has happened from the time before. but now isn’t the time to lay in bed with the duvet covering your eyes - now is the time to get up, retrace your steps back to where you began, and get ready to begin again.
astrologer Marmainides put it beautifully; the weeks before Mercury Retrograde are like the first act of a play, Mercury Retrograde itself is the main event and the reotrshade is the act that clears all the other acts up.
it is resolution, wrapped tightly in a shadow-period bow.
Mercury Retrograde for me has been tumultuous; a situationship flew out the window, a relationship surfaced, I moved back to my childhood home temporarily, had my first reiki session, felt my anxiety return and let go of all that wasn’t serving me. as I step into this post-shadow period, I feel a bit relieved. life has most definitely presented me with lessons soaked in sorrow and frustration but I passed its tests. I have more knowledge than I did before; I am equipped with self-love, self-respect and a newfound instinct to trust my divine feminine intuition.
in summary, Mercury Retrograde was exactly what I needed.
so to help you reflect in this Retroshade/Scorpio Pink Full Moon I have some journal prompts down below to help you process the past few weeks and release anything that is no longer serving you.
Journal Prompts:
how did Mercury Retrograde affect how you communicated in relationships? (these can be romantic/familial/platonic)
did you encounter any disruptions to your daily life during Mercury Retrograde? if so, what were they and how did they affect you?
reflect upon any lessons you have learnt throughout this period of Mercury Retrograde? how can you incorporate this in your daily life going forward?
when you envision your higher self, what do they look like? how can you set goals that will help you become that person? using this, write a letter from your higher self to you now, making sure everything is in present tense. (make sure to end it with a thank you to the Universe!)
I hope you find what the Universe has meant for you.
all my love,
Becca x
